Overview
2024 experienced a significant increase in deal volume among high-growth companies in the South East compared to the previous year. This growth was largely attributed to a marked rise in Q4 activity following the Autumn Budget. The South East, with growth of 24%, outperformed many other UK regions, including London, which saw a modest 3% growth in 2024.
Tech-related deals continued to dominate throughout the year, registering a significant increase of 48% from 2023. As in previous years, UK investors continued to be the primary participants in South East activities, with corporate buyers making up the majority.
Although the current deal volume is over 10% lower than the five-year peak observed in 2021, the outlook remains positive, with the South East well-positioned for sustained growth into 2025.
